Philanthropic endeavors

This is normally a free page, but in these special circumstances, I wanted to post a link here for anyone who wants to donate to the Red Cross effort to aid Japan after that horrendous earthquake.  And to make it easier, I have included the text option, as well.
RED CROSS DONATIONS
American Red Cross

Text Red Cross to 90999 - Donate $10 to the Red Cross

I wanted to have a place for you to build up your good karma, so here are some links to give donations without even spending a dime.  Feel good about yourself, and stick it to the man while you tell him where to put his money.  But remember, monetary donations are not the only way to help those in need, philantropy means more than that.

Philanthropy:
phi·lan·thro·py | noun \-pē\ | plural phi·lan·thro·pies
1 : goodwill to fellowmen; especially : active effort to promote human welfare.  2 a : a philanthropic act or gift b : an organization distributing or supported by philanthropic funds

Limited time & funds only!!  This will be over in 10 days from 9/27/11! [Or $100K goal] Go to http://stephenandmelindagatesfoundation.org/ and upload your face into the graphic and they will donate $5 to www.DonorsChoose.org - an organization connecting you to classrooms in need.

My personal favorite:  Where I've Been, is actually a travel site that logs and even creates an interactive map of the locations you've been to, lived in, and/or want to visit.  There is a daily trivia question on their site that helps you earn "Travel Bucks" that you can use to make donations to a number of causes listed on the site. www.whereivebeen.com  [It can also be found on facebook, under applications] They have redone the site recently and have offered users a much more integrated experience with more photos and information on travel destinations, as well as social networking.

EFAC, or Endorse for a Cause, allows you to have companies make donations to your cause of choice, by either endorsing certain company's products [via posting a link to Twitter or facebook] or when you shop at those company's websites.  http://www.endorseforacause.com/mhome.ecp  They already have a long list of charities they work with already, but you can always suggest and add your favorite.

Another charitable facebook application is Causes - http://apps.facebook.com/causes/ .  Causes has a number of charities to support and raise awareness for.  And if you have a birthday coming up in the next 364 days, you can set a goal for your friends to reach by asking them to donate to your select cause as their gift to you.

The Breast Cancer Site allows you to click once a day to have their sponsers make a donation.  Its easy, simple, and not difficult.  How else do I need to put it?  http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/clickToGive/home.faces?siteId=2&link=ctg_bcs_home_from_bcs_thankyou_sitenav

Please feel free to suggest other sites to add to the list.

I Have a Dream Part 3 sound bite

Good dream, good fight

Good heart, good soul
People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere, people may deceive you.
Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.
Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten.
Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.
Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.
